Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts
We are pleased to announce our office will now be accepting the posting of bonds online, by credit card, beginning November 11, 2022. This will provide the public the ability and convenience of posting a bond 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
In response to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts is currently accepting credit card payments by telephone for bonds.
Convenience fees apply and are paid to the financial transaction provider for the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts. Convenience fee pricing is located at:

To receive and submit the required bond paperwork, you must have the following:
- An email account
- Printing and scanning abilities or the ability the create, sign, and save a fillable PDF.
To post a bond by telephone call 216-698-5967. If you are unable to immediately reach a representative, please leave a message and your telephone call will be returned.
Notice: The Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts is open to provide services to the public.
At this time, we are continuing to accept in person filings. When possible, customers are encouraged to file by mail or use the Electronic Filing System. For further information regarding electronic filing, please go to http://coc.cuyahogacounty.us/en-US/efiling.aspx.
Bonds can be posted in our Criminal Division located on the 2nd floor of the Justice Center during normal business hours.

3/19/20 Notice: The Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts received notification from FedEx that due to the growing concern of COVID-19, effective immediately FedEx is temporarily suspending Direct Signatures for FedEx Express and FedEx Ground deliveries indefinitely. Therefore, the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts is immediately discontinuing the use of FedEx service until further notice. Service of process will be issued using United States Postal Service Certified Mail.

Mission Statement
The Clerk of Courts performs all statutory duties relative to: the filing, preservation, retrieval and public dissemination of all applicable court documents and records pertaining to the Common Pleas Court's General and Domestic Relations Divisions and the Court of Appeals, Eighth Appellate District; collect, hold in trust and disburse monies paid therewith; in a secure, timely and cost effective manner.
